Privacy Policy — ScrollNumb

Last updated: 3 July 2026

ScrollNumb ("the app", "we", "us") is a digital-wellbeing app that helps you reduce compulsive short-form video scrolling. This policy explains what data the app collects, how it is used, and your choices. By using ScrollNumb you agree to this policy.

1. Data we collect

2. Accessibility Service — what it does and does NOT do

ScrollNumb uses Android's Accessibility Service for one purpose only: to detect when a reel or short-video changes inside a fixed list of supported apps (Instagram, YouTube, Facebook, TikTok, Snapchat, LinkedIn) so it can count your scrolls and show a full-screen cool-down reminder when you reach your daily limit.

It does NOT collect, store, log, or transmit screen content, the videos you watch, your messages, captions, comments, or keystrokes. All accessibility processing happens on your device, in real time, and nothing from it ever leaves your phone. You see a clear in-app disclosure and must explicitly enable the service yourself.

3. How we use data

Data is used solely to provide the app's features — tracking your scrolling, enforcing your limit, showing your stats/XP/leaderboard, and improving stability. We do not use your data for advertising, and we do not sell your data to anyone.

4. Sharing

Your account and activity data is stored using Google Firebase (authentication, Firestore database, crash reporting) acting as our data processor. We do not share your personal data with any other third parties, except where required by law. If you opt into the leaderboard, your chosen display name, avatar and XP are visible to other users; you can opt out in Settings.

5. Data security

Data transmitted to our servers is encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS). Firebase stores your information on secure Google servers.

6. Data retention & deletion

You can delete your account at any time from within the app (Settings → account), which removes your stored profile and activity data from our systems. You may also request deletion by emailing us at the address below. Data held only on your device is removed when you uninstall the app.

7. Children

ScrollNumb is not directed at children. It is intended for users aged 18 and over and we do not knowingly collect data from children.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
